The school’s many illustrious alumni include Jessica Chastain, Danielle Brooks, Oscar Isaac and Corey Hawkins, all of whom were on Broadway last season, in addition to their screen work. For more than two decades, Fanfare’s guiding vision has been to make the arts accessible to audiences of all ages. Due to the fact that arts programs are somewhat limited in many schools, we are always searching for innovative ways to involve students and stimulate their interest in various art forms. One of Fanfare’s many goals is to inspire students to incorporate the arts into their lives by exposing them to artistic diversity and introducing them to high standards of artistic excellence. Each October, patrons experience a unique festival program of events, including art exhibits, films, concerts, dance, workshops, master classes, theatrical productions, literary readings, and lectures, presented by emerging and established artists, scholars, and companies from around the world. Alumni A degree from Ball State’s Department of Theatre and Dance puts you in the company of an incredible array of artists working at venues across the country, educating at institutions of higher education and a range of primary and secondary schools, and using their skills in a variety of ways. Van Lieu over the past 42 years have won every major award in the field of theater and acting including the Pulitzer Prize, the Academy Award, Tonys, Drama Desk Awards, Golden Globes, Emmys, Obies, etc.Fanfare, Southeastern Louisiana University’s month-long celebration of the arts, humanities, and social sciences, offers a variety of cultural events that appeal to the entire region. Graduates include Orla Boylan, Sinad Campbell, Paula Murrihy. Van Lieu is a founding faculty member of both The Shakespeare Lab at the New York Shakespeare Festival Public Theater where he headed the actor training for 10 years, as well as The Actors Center in New York where he is a member of the board and continues to teach both professional actors as well as teachers of acting. professional world of opera and theatre, most notably with Columbia College in Chicago. As a theatre-maker, dramaturg, performer, educator, and scholar she works at the intersection of research and art, exploring the interrelations and frictions of embodied practice, performance, memory and the urban space. ![]() His acting credits include major regional theaters, leading roles off-Broadway, New York Shakespeare Festival, The Public Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, and a member of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s acting company. William Billy Baldwin is best known for his acting roles in more than 25 films, including the award-winning The Squid and The Whale and action drama Backdraft. Mara Jos Contreras is a Chilean multi-disciplinary artist working in the international field of theatre and performance. Van Lieu trained at New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
